EHS - Integration of SAP EHS and other Components!

Integrating SAP S/4HANA Environment, Health, and Safety with Other Components

SAP S/4HANA Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) offers various data integration options with other SAP components and products, enabling efficient data reuse and transfer. This means changes to integrated data are reflected across all linked components, ensuring consistency and reducing redundancy.

Implementation Considerations

  • Plant Maintenance (PM): Integration with PM requires a fully installed and configured PM component. PM data can be accessed locally or remotely, and you can configure remote system destinations in EHS Customizing.
  • Authorizations: Proper authorizations are crucial. Ensure the following authorization objects are assigned for corresponding activities:
    • S_USER_RFC: Editing RFC connections
    • S_RFC_ADM: Entering RFC connections for PFCG roles in SM59

Features

EHS integrates with various components to support your business scenarios:

  • SAP Business Partner: Read and change business partner data for use in Incident Management, Health and Safety Management, and Environment Management.
  • Personnel Administration: Read employee and applicant data for Incident Management and Health and Safety Management.
  • Personnel Time Management: Read and create employee absences for Incident Management.
  • Organizational Management: Determine relationships between individuals, positions, and organizations across all EHS components.
  • Plant Maintenance (PM):
    • Import and read PM technical object data.
    • Read and create maintenance notifications and orders.
    • Flag PM technical objects for risk assessment retrieval.
  • Accounting (AC): Read and create internal orders for financial tracking in Incident Management.
  • Product Master: Read material data across all EHS components.
  • Management of Change: Create and send change requests from all EHS components.
  • SAP Sustainability Control Tower: Merge greenhouse gas emissions data with the SAP Sustainability Control Tower for comprehensive sustainability reporting and analysis.
  • Regulatory Content: Import regulatory content into compliance requirements from content providers via web services for Environment Management.

Constraints

The following data must be available in the local system:

  • Plants, including descriptions and addresses
  • Materials and material descriptions
  • Currencies and exchange rates
  • Notification types for PM
  • Business partner roles
  • Marital status texts for HR persons and business partners
  • Attendance and absence types
  • Shift group and shift planning of the organizational unit
  • Organizational data, including organizational units and persons in PA-OS

Note: Personnel-related data and business partner/user data are available through integration with SAP Business User Management.
